Frozen parts?

I may be doing something wrong, but according to directions when the side button is pushed the two halfs should separate. They don't on the one I have. Seems like they are glued together. Can't use it yet anyway. Found that I need an adopter to match the tank threads on the top half with the bottom threads that will fit the battery I plan to use. (Ego/Vision threads).Strong,well made adapter.

The hinge on the adapter is made very tight, the flip action requires an atomizer/tank to be threaded on to use as leverage.
