Perfect replacement
Posted by Heidi on 10th May 2015
I bought these to replace the insulator on both an old Vamo and a newer iStick that was already tearing. Both fit perfectly and the mods are back up and running again. Easy to do with a tiny flathead screwdriver and a careful hand. Thanks Avid!

Vamo Is Working Again
Posted by Eugene Wentland on 19th Jul 2014
I was scavenging insulators from tanks to fix the center pin short on my Vamo. They would only last a couple of days or less. After two weeks with these insulators I still have
no problem
Thanks for offering these for sale!!

Worked a treat on my VAMO V2
Posted by Richard Archibald on 22nd Dec 2013
The original 510 insulators on my VAMO were cracked, swollen and generally ugly. Ordered some of these, installed one in about ten minutes, and so far everything is great and I'm pretty confident it'll last for a while.

The Right Bung Seals Give the Best Fit
Posted by Eric K. on 14th Dec 2013
It is amazing how much easier the bung seal is to install when you have the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)part. I had been searching for the seal with the proper configuration for a long time when I saw them at AV. I ordered them and received them very quickly. Thanks AV for the professional manner my order was handled.

Quality insulators
Posted by Rich on 13th Dec 2013
I ordered these insulators to repair my Vamo V3 after the center pin started shorting out because the insulator had deteriorated. Avid Vapor had them for a great price and due to my misunderstanding, I wound up buying 12 of them. The fact is that the $1.49 which was posted for the product was actually for a bag of 4 insulators.
I thought that they were $1.49 each and therefore wound up with 3 bags because I ordered "3". Still, the price was great and the product is well made. Avid Vapor had shipped it within hours of my placing the order and I received it in just a few days. As for the actual repair of the Vamo V3, well that didn't go so good.
In my attempt to repair it, I had broken both wire connections. Unfortunately, they broke at the PCB connection point. Though I'm pretty good with a solder iron, my replacement wires were too long. Eventually, after multiple soldering sessions and attempts to shorten the wire and yet still be able to have enough room to work with, I think I overheated the PC board and pretty much destroyed it.
I must point out that these insulators are not precisely the right size for the Vamo V3 if your goal is to replace the center pin insulator. Also, it was my own misunderstanding that led me to believe these were for that purpose.
That said, even though they are a bit shorter, they would otherwise make a good replacement and did work very well as an alternative insulator in my Vamo.

Used for my Vamo 3
Posted by djxman on 18th Jul 2013
The insulator on my Vamo 3 wore out in about a month. I did the #60 o ring fix but it does no seal good enough and I was worried about liquid getting in my unit. These insulators work great! I little hard to work but go the job. I'm so grateful I found these. Thanks Avid!

Fix for the Vamo 0.0 ohm reading problem
Posted by Central Ohio guy on 22nd Apr 2013
I tried a #60 o-ring to fix the short on the 510 connector pin in my Vamo. It only worked part of the time and the pin still touched the edges of the pin hole. With these insulators the edge of the hole gets covered and the Vamo works without shorting now. We'll see how well it holds up.
